Founders of AMANI
Our Story
AMANI Birth is a philosophy of trusting Allah’s perfect design of the woman’s body and a program for educating women about the way their body works during the blessed time of pregnancy, labor, birth, and early motherhood.
AMANI Birth was founded in 2012 by Aisha Al Hajjar and Mohammad Al Hajjar, a wife and husband team who have dedicated themselves to bringing knowledge about childbirth to families around the world.
Across the globe, AMANI Birth has trained over 900 childbirth educators and doulas and has empowered over 10,000 mothers with evidence- and Islamic-based childbirth education.
AMANI Birth Online is dedicated to providing greater access to AMANI Birth’s comprehensive content in a flexible and convenient format accessible anytime, anywhere.
AMANI Birth Online Team
Muna is an AMANI Certified Childbirth Educator and Doula, a Dr. Sears-certified family and pregnancy health coach, and a midwife in training. She is passionate about empowering women and girls with transformative knowledge through education, mentoring, and coaching, especially in areas concerning personal wellbeing and development.
During play hours, Muna enjoys many adventures (real and imaginary) with her four children and husband in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Harvard University and a Master of Education degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, where she was the recipient of the Alumni of Color Conference 2005 Achievement Award.
Hafsa is not only a leader at AMANI Birth, but she is also on the Executive Board of Birth Kuwait, an organization with a center in Kuwait for parents from preconception, through pregnancy, lactation and early years of life. Her qualifications include: Certified AMANI Childbirth Educator, LCCE (Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator), Breastfeeding Counselor, Lactation Educator, Certified Lactation Trainer, Newborn Care Specialist, Certified VBAC Support Practitioner and a Certified Advanced VBAC Doula. She is also a mother of three and a 2VBAC mom who is passionate about helping mothers achieve successful VBACs!
Aymen is a creative AMANI Affiliate based in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2019, she became the first CBE and Doula to certify in Pakistan, igniting her desire to educate and empower more women. Her dedication to spreading awareness about natural birth and her love for content creation and marketing sparked an interest in working with AMANI. Aymen enjoys using her skills to create impactful messages that resonate with women. Now working full-time as a Social Media Manager for AMANI, she hopes to reach more women by sharing valuable information, and resources and spreading the goal of AMANI Birth to empower them on their beautiful journey to motherhood.
